How to Get to Langeoog
Environmentally Compatibly by Train
Travel to the island comfortably by train, bus and ship: Langeoog can be reached well from all directions. From North-Rhine Westphalia, the Rhineland-Palatinate, Hesse, Saxony-Anhalt and Saxony, InterCity trains will take you directly to Leer or Norden, from where you can continue by bus to the ferry terminal to Bensersiel.
From Berlin, Hanover and Hamburg, you can reach Oldenburg via Bremen. From there, the NordWestBahn leaves every hour for the Esens train station via Sande. Then you can take the bus to Bensersiel.
Guests from the Münsterland can take the NordWestBahn's KüstenExpress train to the sea. These travellers will also switch trains in Sande and take the NordWestBahn to Esens. From there, the bus will take them to Bensersiel.

By Car
Coming from the Rhine-Ruhr area, take the A1 motorway (Münster/Osnabrück) to the Ahlhorner Heide interchange. Continue on the A 29 motorway to the Wilhelmshaven interchange. Take exit Jever/Wittmund/Ostfriesische Inseln and continue on the B210 in the direction of Aurich. Turn towards Esens/Bensersiel in Wittmund or Ogenbargen.
You may also drive via the B70 or Ruhr region A31 to Leer and Aurich. From the Northern or Eastern states, drive to Bremen via Hamburg or Hanover. Then continue on the A28 and A29 motorways to the Wilhelmshavener Kreuz interjunction. Take the B210 to Wittmund or Ogenbargen and turn towards Esens/Bensersiel. From the Southern states, take the A7, A45, A61 or A3 motorways to the Ruhr region or Hanover. Continue according to the above description towards Bensersiel/Langeoog.

Leave your car on one of the monitored long-term parking spaces or parking garages and enjoy your stay on the North Sea island Langeoog. Motor vehicles are not permitted on Langeoog! Crossing by Ferry
You may hand over your luggage right at the ferry terminal. It will later be taken to the Inselbahn from the ferry after reaching Langeoog and will automatically be brought to Langeoog-Ort.
At the ticket office in Bensersiel, you can receive your LangeoogCard, which also serves as your ferry ticket. When entering the ferry, the arrival date is automatically marked electronically on the card. This is required to calculate your visitor's tax later.

The Inselbahn to Town
After reaching Langeoog, your journey will continue by Inselbahn train, which will take you to the island train station in Langeoog-Ort quickly. There, you will receive your luggage again.
By Plane
The air taxi service to Langeoog takes about 10 min. from Harlesiel and Norden-Norddeich or about 35 min from Bremen. For more information on the Langeoog airport, call +49 (0)4972 / 693-295 or contact your travel agency. The Langeoog airport is open every day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 to 7 p.m. from the end of March to the end of October. Flights outside of these hours on request / advance notification.
